Here’s how Thursday went for the top prospects.

Class-A West Virginia — South Atlantic League

No. 2 — Jarred Kelenic, OF
THU: 1-4, BB, 2 SO, SB
2019: .324/.435/.465, 7-2B, HR, 9 RBI, 13 BB, 21 SO, 4 SB

No. 4 — Julio Rodriguez, OF
THU: DNP (weather) (IL, wrist)
2019: .355/.429/.452, 3-2B, 3 RBI, 4 BB, 5 SO

Word came out last Friday that additional tests on Rodriguez’s wrist revealed a hairline fracture after the HBP last Friday. He’ll miss 4-6 weeks, which would mean he could be out until June.

No. 7 Logan Gilbert, RHS
THU: DNP
2019: 14 IP, 5 H, ER, 3 BB, 22 SO

No. 17 Damon Casetta-Stubbs, RHS

High-A Modesto — California League

2019: .221/.303/.412, 4-2B, 3 HR, 14 RBI, 8 BB, 18 SO

No. 23 Joey Gerber, RHP

UR Ljay Newsome, RHS
THU: 5 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO
2019: 5 GS, 29.2 IP, 21 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, 46 SO

Believe it or not this was Newsome’s worst start of the year thus far, but he was still good, throwing 65 of 93 pitches for strikes, inducing weak contact with command and a cutter and yielding just five baserunners… in a ‘bad’ game.

Double-A Arkansas — Texas League

No. 3 Justin Dunn, RHS
THU: DNP
2019: 14.1 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 21 SO

No. 5 Kyle Lewis, OF
THU: 1-3, BB, 2 SO
2019: .233/.349/.397, 4-2B, 3B, 2 HR, 11 RBI, 12 BB, 27 SO

Lewis is six for his last 14 but is still expanding his strike zone and there’s not a lot of power showing up yet. It’s early.

No. 6 Evan White, 1B
THU: 0-5, 2 SO
2019: .222/.275/.278, 2-2B 3 RBI, 2 BB, 11 SO

White is 0-10 with three whiffs his first two games back.

THU: 3-5, SO
2019: .275/.354/.449 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 7 BB, 18 SO, 6 SB

DT-W has three 3-hit games in the past five contests to counter some swing-and-miss.

No. 15 Ricardo Sanchez, LHS
THU: DNP
2019: 25 IP, 18 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 23 SO, 1.08 ERA

No. 18 Wyatt Mills, RHR

No. 22 Art Warren, RHP
THU: 1 IP, H, 0 ER, BB, 2 SO
2019: 1-0, 5 SV, 1.35 ERA, 7.2 IP, 6 H, 3 BB, 10 SO

No. 24 Jake Fraley, OF
THU: 0-5, SO
2019: .267/.337/.427, 2-2B, 2-3B, 2 HR, 11 RBI, 7 BB, 20 SO, 6 SB

Triple-A Tacoma — Pacific Coast League

No. 1 Justus Sheffield, LHP
THU:
DNP
2019:
4 G,18.1 IP, 13 H, 8 ER, 14 BB, 11 SO, 4 HR

Sheffield is expected to relieve Yusei Kikuchi after an inning or two next time through the Mariners’ rotation, but the lefty’s command remains a problem. He’s issued a walks+homer rate nearly equal to his innings covered and threw just 27 of 46 pitches for strikes Monday.

No. 8 Shed Long, 2B/3B/OF
THU: 0-3, BB
2019: .266/.348/.392, 2-2B, 3B, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 10 BB, 19 SO

MORE:  Braden Bishop's Loud Bat, Logan Gilbert's Latest Start: Mariners Prospect Wrap -- May 14, 2019

No. 16 Braden Bishop, CF
THU: 0-4, SO
2019: .257/.353/.378, 6-2B, HR, 7 RBI, 11 BB, 18 SO

Bishop is nine for his last 48 with 13 strikeouts and six walks, looking like the first mini-slump of 2019.
