Here’s how Wednesday went for the top prospects.

Class-A West Virginia — South Atlantic League

No. 2 — Jarred Kelenic, OF
WED: DNP
2019: .328/.438/.478, 7-2B, HR, 9 RBI, 12 BB, 19 SO, 3 SB

Kelenic is 20 for his last 42 with seven extra-base hits. Two scouts that saw Kelenic on the recent road trip were surprised at how strong he’d gotten since the draft.

“I wrote ‘man child’ in my report,” said one scout. “He’s not Aaron Judge but he’s got some beast to him. He’s sound all the way across the board, but that swing is going to get him to the major leagues, and with more power than most I remember talking to last spring thought was really reasonable to project. Certainly more than I saw in him pre-draft.”

No. 4 — Julio Rodriguez, OF
WED: DNP (weather) (IL, wrist)
2019: .355/.429/.452, 3-2B, 3 RBI, 4 BB, 5 SO

Word came out last Friday that additional tests on Rodriguez’s wrist revealed a hairline fracture after the HBP last Friday. He’ll miss 4-6 weeks, which would mean he could be out until June.
