TUE: 3 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO
2019: 1 GS, 5 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 SO

Swanson threw 54 pitches, 32 strikes and didn’t quite seem himself in this one. But it’s still curious why he was removed after 54 pitches and three frames.

No. 24 David McKay, RHR

2019: 14 G, 5.91 ERA, 21.1 IP, 17 H, 14 BB, 34 SO

Seager is now 9-32 with two doubles, two walks and seven strikeouts on his rehab assignment.

MLB Sam Tuivailala, RHR (rehab)
TUE: 1 IP, 1 SO
2019: 7 G, 7 IP, H, ER, 2 BB, 7 SO

Tui’s first outing with Tacoma during his rehab stint went well, including 12 of 19 pitches for strikes.

No. 23 Gerson Bautista, RHR (rehab)
TUE: 1 IP, H
2019: 6 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 9 SO, 3 WP

Bautista’s stuff looked good again, touching 100 mph with the fastball, and the slider showed some vertical depth at 88-89. His control was spotty after the first batter but he didn’t let the inning get away from him.

Arkansas Travelers (AA) — Texas League

No. 3 Justin Dunn, RHS
TUE: DNP
2019: 37.1 IP, 34 H, 14 ER, 10 BB, 50 SO, 3.51 ERA

5.20.2019 — Dunn was ejected in the 5th inning Monday after a disputed ground ball-HBP was overturned after the umpires gathered. Not ideal, but there is good news.

Dunn was pretty solid again despite a 4-5 batters span where he fought his control and command and surrendered two runs, one earned, raising his pitch count. In the end, he threw 70 pitches, 43 for strikes.

No. 15 Damon Casetta-Stubbs, RHS
TUE: 3 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO
2019: 24.2 IP, 33 H, 17 ER, 5 BB, 20 SO, 7.82 ERA

Casetta-Stubbs is in full struggle mode with his control and command and the stuff is lagging a bit, too, especially the movement on his fastball. He’s shown plenty early on to be excited about but there’s a fix or three to be made here — which is not at all surprising, considering he was pitching in high school a year ago.

UR Deivy Florido, RHS
TUE: 5 IP, 3 H, 0 R, BB, 6 SO
2019:

5.19.2019 — Florido, 18, is a strike-throwing machine at this point and in the SALLY League it’s working just fine. The right-hander threw 69 pitches, 52 for strikes (75%) in covering his five innings.

Everything is pretty raw right now, but keep an eye on Florido for a few years, regardless of his performances. There’s some physical projection here and he’s alreayd working with above-control and fringe-average command.
