Here’s how the Mariners’ farm system performed Tuesday:

Tacoma Rainiers (AAA)– Pacific Coast League

No. 5 Justus Sheffield, LHS
TUE: DNP
2019: 54.1 IP, 52 H, 27 ER, 40 BB, 46 SO, 5.74 ERA

6.7.2019: Hot and cold for Sheffield, and far too much cold. At this point, I wonder if Sheffield doesn’t get skipped in the rotation once or twice if they’re working on some mechanical adjustments, because he’s just not finding a consistent release point. The stuff is fine. He’s missing bats. The changeup isn’t being used a lot but he’s not getting into a lot of changeup counts, either.
