Kyle Seager‘s on his way back to the Seattle Mariners and he started his rehab assignment Tuesday. Seager is expected to need 25-30 at-bats, give or take, before being activated. May 25 is Seager’s expected return date.

Speaking of rehab stints, Gerson Bautista appears closer than Sam Tuivailala, which is far from surprising, but the question isn’t about the return date, it’s what the club does once Bautista is ready to come off the IL.

If he’s throwing strikes enough, the easy decision is to add him to the 25-man and let him help the big club. But he has options and can get to work in Triple-A Tacoma if necessary.
