It looks like the 2014 Mariners are going to be streaky. After a 6-1 road trip back east, Seattle dropped five straight to start the home stand before rallying for a win on Sunday. It was an ugly stretch too, as the club scored all of four runs against Nick Tepesch, Joe Saunders, and Nick Martinez before plating three against the Rangers bullpen in the eighth. Opening Day Notes

There may or may not be a “Second Game Notes” or any other subsequent edition of this feature. But, it’s Opening Day and the Mariners killed it, so I celebrated by writing something. We all have our outlets. Lineup Adjustments Lloyd McClendon’s first lineup produced a couple of head scratchers. Most notably, why bat Kyle Seager behind Justin Smoak and Logan Morrison?
